Camelback Mountain
This famous mountain features two hiking trails that ascend 1,280 feet to the summit. Ideal for active hikers and runners, this 45 to 60-minute hike rewards with breathtaking views of the Valley of the Sun. Distance from resort: 7.1 miles.

McDowell Sonoran Preserve
The Scottsdale McDowell Sonoran Preserve is a permanently protected 30,200-acre sustainable desert habitat open for non-motorized trail use. The Preserve offers multiple trailheads and is open every day, sunrise to sunset. Distance from resort: 21.2 miles.
South Mountain
This vast 16,000-acre preserve offers 51 primary trails for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding. Drive up the Summit Road 5.5 miles to Dobbins Lookout and gain spectacular valleywide views. Distance from resort: 15.8 miles.

Piestewa Peak
At 2,608 feet, Piestewa Peak is the second-highest point in the Phoenix Mountains Preserve, after Camelback Mountain. Piestewa Peak Summit Trail is a popular 2.3-mile challenging hike with great city views. Distance from resort: 2 miles.
North Mountain
Also close by are North Mountain and Shaw Butte at 2,014 feet and 2,149 feet in elevation, respectively. North Mountain National Trail is a moderate 1.6-mile loop featuring beautiful wildflowers and great birding. Distance from resort: 7.1 miles.
Apache Junction
Apache Junction was a stagecoach trail that ran through the Superstition Mountains, and was named after the Apache Indians who originally used the trail to move through the Superstition Mountains. As you drive along Apache Junction, explore ghost towns, mining towns, museums, horseback riding and restaurants. Distance from resort: 44 miles.
