- We promote pollination and biodiversity while contributing to bee conservation efforts.
- We educate guests about the importance of bees and their role in sustainable ecosystems.
Landscaping
- Utilization of water-efficient turf management practices.
- Implemented advanced irrigation systems to minimize water usage.
- Drought-resistant plants indigenous to Arizona planted throughout the resort, resulting in low-water landscaping watered through drip sprinkler system.
- Regularly monitored and adjusted watering schedules to optimize efficiency.
LED Lighting
- We have upgraded lighting fixtures to energy-efficient LED technology.
- We reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions by using LED lights.
- We create a warm and inviting atmosphere while minimizing the environmental impact
- We are upgrading the lighting system in the ballroom to energy-efficient LED technology.
- We enhance the ambiance of events while reducing energy consumption.
- We showcase our commitment to sustainability by incorporating cutting-edge lighting solutions.
Food & Beverage
- We have implemented a comprehensive waste management program to minimize landfill waste.
- We utilize ORCA, an advanced organic waste processing system, to convert food waste into reusable resources.
- Replaced all equipment with EnergyStar rated equipment.
- Removed equipment water connections that were cooled by domestic water and connected to mechanical cooling. Reduced water consumption by 30,000 gal per equipment replaced.
- Installed Kitchen Hood equipment to monitor smoke and heat to speed up and slow down exhaust fans that turn off when not in use reducing energy consumption.
EV Charging Statations
- We have installed electric vehicle (EV) charging stations to support sustainable transportation options.
- We encourage guests to use electric vehicles by providing convenient charging infrastructure.
- We reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote clean transportation solutions.
Hawk Abatement Program
- Falconry based bird abatement is quiet, discrete, organic, eco-friendly and very sustainable. The objective is not killing the nuisance birds, but scaring them off the premises
- We replace the use of harsh chemicals with environmentally friendly pest management methods.
- We preserve the local ecosystem and promote natural balance through responsible pest control.
Recycling
- Comingling Recycling program and composting in place to recycle.
- Reduced trash to the landfill by 25% with goal of 50% from the baseline.
Energy
- Introduced Smart guest room thermostats to reduce energy usage and increase guest comfort in all guest rooms.
- Installed Energy Management System to monitor HVAC equipment in real-time, set schedules, and fix problems that waste energy reducing 1 million KWH of electricity.
- Participate in voluntary curtailment of electricity during peak days as part of the community to reduce consumption of electricity of peak days/hot days.
- Completed Retro-commission of all mechanical equipment to operate as designed. Reduced operating time of chillers by 50%.
- Reduced natural gas consumption from baseline by 30%, installed high efficiency tankless water heaters, replaced missing or damaged pipe insulation, and completed retro commission on existing equipment.
