1929 - 2024

95 Years of Excellence

On February 23, 1929, the Arizona Biltmore opened in grand fashion and became known as the Jewel of the Desert. Over 600 invitations were sent out, with the thought of only a few hundred attending. The response from guests was overwhelmingly positive, and the resort had to re-create the opening gala three days in a row to accommodate all 600 people. From that day forward, the Arizona Biltmore has been a private retreat for some of the most influential powerhouses of the time.

Maintaining Our History

An Arizona icon, the Arizona Biltmore has earned a place in the hearts and memories of community members and world travelers alike and was listed on the Phoenix Historic Property Register in 1929. As the hotel undergoes the final stages of a multi-year, multi-million dollar investment on the part of the hotel’s owners, meticulous care has been taken to restore the original Wright Bar, Cottages, Catalina Pool, to pay tribute to Frank Lloyd Wright and Albert Chase McArthur with the addition of two architecturally studding ballrooms, and to rejuvenate the historic Lobby.
